Roger Hamilton is the senior energy and public policy advisor for TRIG. He is also a consultant on electric transmission issues for the wind, central solar, and geothermal power industries. He owns and operates a cattle and hay ranch in south central Oregon with other members of his family. 

Roger was a Klamath County Commissioner from 1983 to 1991. He served Oregon Governor Kitzhaber as his Advisor on Energy and Watersheds in 2001 and 2002. From 1992 to 2001 he was an Oregon Public Utility Commissioner. He has also served as a member of the Oregon State Parks Commission. He was a long-standing member of the National Association of Public Utility Commissioners on the Committee of Energy Resources and the Environment and as chair of the Committee on Finance and Technology. He has also served on the advisory council of the Electric Power Research Institute and the Western Interstate Energy Board. Roger now serves on the board of directors of the Energy Trust of Oregon, the Regulatory Assistance Project and the Pacific Rivers Council. He has participated in four missions to Russia to advise on matters of energy efficiency and regulation, as well as missions to China and Brazil.  

Roger has a B.A. in History from Harvard University, and an M.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
