Time To Prepare for Impacts

TRIG's Social Capital Project Director Cara Pike is featured in a recent Grist article, "Time to Ruggedize: We Should Talk More About Climate Change." Grist's David Roberts asserts that adaptation may be the most effective way to approach climate change and build social capital, although we might not want to use the language ofClick to read the SCP's Communications and Behavior Guide "adaptation." Citing our communications and behavior change work, Roberts describes the challenges of making global warming relevant to people's daily lives in order to promote public engagement. Talking about climate preparedness - or "ruggedizing" as Roberts proposes - can build social capital and increase resilience at the community level.
